Near Death Experience! LOL

09.14.05 (4:15 pm)   [edit]
Hey!! Today has been a really good day! I started BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) this morning. At first I was concerned because it seemed like there were only older ladies walking into the church ( i was wanting to kind of have a study with women more my age). But then when I got inside I saw that there were quite a few others who were around my age! I'm so excited to get started learning and start fellowshipping weekly with these ladies. *grin* God has led me to just the right place for me :)

OH, I totally forgot to tell you guys about a "near death experience" the other day!! On Sunday, me, me sis, her BF and my mom all went to this zoo. It's not like you would think. It's a family that has this petting zoo on their property. It's not too big and not too small. They have monkeys, snakes, cows, emus, deer, kangaroos (and baby ones too!), pigs, goats, etc, etc, etc! It's a really fun place to go. BUT...

As we were feeding the zebra, all of a sudden we saw this guy running down the road towards us!! We were like, "What's going on??" and then we hear something in the woods! This HUGE cow (not a typical dairy cow, but more of a buffalo size looking cow, it was HUGE).. but this cow was charging right towards us! He told us to get IN THE CAGE WITH THE ZEBRA!! The cow had escaped because it was really upset.

So , we hoped over the fence and I tell ya, that zebra was getting VERY upset. So, these 2 or 3 guys try to corner this HUGE cow and everyone was really nervous. I had no idea that if you try to run from a cow it will automatically charge and try to trample you! EEK! But a lady finally came in a golfcart and we piled in and got away quickly. The cow was afraid of the noise, so it didn't chase us. But this cow was sick and it was VERY mad because it had been bitten by a snake.

As soon as we got away from that area, we turned and that cow had run right into that gate (the cage we were standing in!) I don't know what happened. I sure hope no one got hurt! It was scary though!

LOL So, that's the scary cow story! By the way, I did some research on the nature of zebras and found out that a zebra is one of the MOST dangerous zoo animals! They have been known to attack the keepers by biting or kicking! ahh!

LOL

I'm glad we were all ok! I sure hope no one was hurt.

Luv,

Heather

Just Can't Sleep :)

09.10.05 (6:09 pm)   [edit]

It’s 12 AM and for some reason I just can’t sleep. My sis and her boyfriend just got home from a Christian concert/ festival. I really wish I could have gone. Joe and I were planning on going, but he had something military related he had to do.

I really miss him, even though I’m used to life without him (him not being physically around me). Yes, even though I’m used to it, doesn’t mean that it’s any easier or that I miss him any less.

Anyway, the concert had Joy Williams (one of my FAVES!!), Nicole C. Mullens, Michael W. Smith, Building 429, Chris Rice, Jars of Clay, and a BUNCH more! This was an all day thing. I’m happy for my sis and her BF, I guess I just wish I could have also been there and that Joe would have been with me too.

I’ve had a pretty good day, I’ve done a lot of reading. I was able to spend some time with Lola and with my Mom. We walk/ hike pretty much every day.

Anyway, I think I’ll try and get some sleep. Lol Have an awesome Sunday, everyone!!

Luv,

Heather

Hey guys!!

WOW! It's been quite a while since I have posted! Just wanted to write a little note to let you guys know that I'll be posting again very soon.

Wow! It's been a while...

07.17.05 (3:13 pm)   [edit]

Wow! It's been a while sense I've written about my day! I've been so busy! (I'm SURE you all know what I mean! LOL) Last night me, my sis, my mom and my cousin went to a Michael Buble concert last night. It was AMAZING! Do any of you know about Michael Buble? He's kind of like a combo of Dean Martin, Frank Senatra and Bing Crosby. He's got an amazing voice! We had such a great time together!

Today, I've just been doing Amazon and eBay stuff... cleaning.... taking care of Lola . By the way, we have a pond and Lola has been sneaking down there! hehe She can swim like a fish! *grin* It's so cute!

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

Luv,

Heather

My Day *grin*

06.13.05 (5:27 pm)   [edit]
Hey guys! I've been soooo busy the past few days, but it's been wonderful! I've been posting a lot on He Holds My Hand and at a couple other MSN Groups. God is so amazing! Isn't it just so neat the way God brings certain people into our lives!?

Anyway, Lola has been such a handful! hehe This morning, when I took her out so that she could "potty" LOL  she found a dead mouse and she was trying to carry it around and play with it. So, of course I tried snatching it from her, but she kept running and getting away from me! I was chasing her around the yard and I finally got a hold of her collar and pretty much had to drag her to her doggie cage. (It was time-out time because she knew she was supposed to come to me when I call her) Sooo... I went and got the dead mouse and threw it in the garbage. I made her wait in her cage for about 5 min and then I took her back out and gave her a chance to be good. WELL... LOL that little stinker went right for the mouse (or where she left it, ha thank goodness I got it and threw it away) She went nuts when she saw it wasn't there anymore and she started running around the yard looking for it and smelling around. Then all of a sudden, she took off running down our dirt road! (She knows she's not supposed to run off) AnYwAy..... I ran after and called her and finally got her to run back to me. I think she was frustrated because she kept running and tried jumping on me and barking... she was like running in circles LOL!! Anyway, I tried getting her back in her cage and I pretty much had to catch her again and "plop" her in her cage. My goodness! All this took place around 6 this morning!  Awe... I love her though hehe She's just being a stinker today.

Anyway, just thought I'd share that story (not that I look back on it I went on and ON about that LOLOL) Hopefully I'll get some classowork done today and then I've gotta make a run to the post office to send off the Amazon and Ebay orders. Busy, busy, busy! But I like keeping busy, you know?  Today Joe's going on an overnight trip (or I mean he's going out to the field with his class) and so I won't be able to talk to him tonight.  I know, it's only one day, but I'm so used to talking to him every night on the phone. I'll miss him, even if it's only for a day. Sometimes it scares me to think of him being deployed and how it would be. It'd be tough to get used to it, that's for sure. I know that God would comfort me (us both) thoug h.

Luv,

Heather

There's a SNAKE in my CAR!!

06.07.05 (3:30 am)   [edit]
Hey everyone!! My day has been great! :) I've been busy with lots of stuff, mainly like running errands and stuff around the house. I gotta tell ya'll.... LOL I was driving home and I saw a snake in the road, so I went in reverse and tried to run over it to kill it. (I'm terrified of snakes! eek) Anyway, about 4 hours later my mom ran inside the house and said, "Heather!! There's a snake coming out of your tire!! It's coming out of the middle of the wheel!!" So, we tried to take a broom and get it out, but it went back in my car! So, now I'm paranoid it'll like be in my car or it'll sneak up on me or something!! eek! I sure hope that it leaves soon! LOLOL

A New Puppy :)

05.30.05 (4:44 am)   [edit]

Hey guys! It's been a little while. Well, I've been really busy with quite a few things. First of all, my dog died a couple of weeks ago. He was such a sweetie. We all miss him! But, the other day my mom and sis and I went to the Animal Shelter and saw the sweetest little golden retriever puppy! So, we decided to take her home! *grin* We named her Lola! (I just love that name) She's a little wiggleworm (LOL) I tell ya, she is SO smart. At only her 3rd day here, she knows how to sit and shake! It's amazing! Here's a pic of her:

I can't wait till she's old enough to run and roam outside. We have tons of land and I know she'll have so much fun! *grin*

God Bless! I hope you all have an awesome day!

Steven Curtis Chapman Concert - what an AWESOME Nite!!

05.01.05 (4:21 pm)   [edit]

Hey guys!! I just wanted to share something with you all...

God is so awesome! Last night I had the opportunity to go to the "All Things New" Tour with Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, and Chris Tomlin!!!! I had never been to a Christian concert before, and so I was really excited! I had such a wonderful time and I just want to thank God for the blessing. :) Me and my good friend, Liz went together and we got lawn seats... it was so awesome being with so many believers and singing praises to God! It just gave me chills... everyone singing to Him and I really felt His presence there.

Have you all heard of the artists at the concert? I have both Steven Curtis Chapman and Casting Crown's CD's but I didn't know much about Chris Tomlin, but he is REALLY good! Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know about my awesome night!! Have any of you ever been to a Christian concert and you just totally felt God's presence there? What about the opposite? Have you ever been to a concert (even maybe a Christian concert) and you just had a bad feeling.. like it wasn't really God-glorifying?

God Bless you guys!!! *smile*

Heather

Just another day...

04.22.05 (4:23 pm)   [edit]

Today's been good... :)

I've been so busy lately! But I like staying busy. Don't you? Oh, have you all heard of Casting Crowns? Well I'm going to see them in CONCERT next week!!! *grin* I'm so excited especially because I get to go with a really good friend. It's going to be so much fun! I think Steven Curtis Chapman is also going to be there, I dunno though.

I got a question... What do you all think about the movie, "The Phantom of the Opera?" I'd like to hear your thoughts. I went to see it at the theatre and it's coming on DVD very soon. I loved the story and the music ( I have the soundtrack ) BUT I felt kind of uncomfortable with a few of the themes you know? As a Christian, I felt a little uncomfortable with the "seduction" in a couple of the scenes. You know what I mean? Again, please feel free to share your thoughts.

You see, I have certain convictions when it comes to the media (music, tv, movies)... Personally, I'm against opening up my mind to certain things that are on tv and in certain movies (esp. R rated). You know what they say, "Garbage in garbage out"...

God Bless! Until I write again...

Angels walk the earth

01.25.05 (2:03 pm)   [edit]

Angels walk the earth

A young university student was home for the summer. She had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away.As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked "God" to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for "God's" protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there.Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help his young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. Then the police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question.Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered,

"Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her."

Worried About my Military Man

01.02.05 (7:05 pm)   [edit]

hmmmm... Hey guys, I kinda have a lot on my mind. I've just been thinking about how crazy this world is and how things are getting worse and all. You see, the man that I love is in the Military (he's making a career out of it..he's in the National Guard) and more than ever, I am terrified that he will be deployed and taken from me. I know that I have to trust in God, but for some reason, this fear is bothering me more than ever. Sometimes I feel like, "Goodness, so many people have loved ones who have to be deployed to fight in the war....they have to go through this...why would I NOT have to go through it?"

I love him and I know that he feels like this is where the Lord wants him and if it's where God wants him, that's where I want him to be. He always tells me that more than anything he "wants to be a family man, a father and a husband"...but sometimes I feel that those dreams might not be possible with the way military lifestyle is in the world today. I am so afraid that he and I will marry and he will have to be deployed soon after our marriage...and then if we get married and everything seems ok..no deployment so far... I worry about starting a family for fear that he might be deployed and I will be pregnant alone and that I will have the baby alone and then I think, "What if something happens to him and i have to raise the child as a single parent??" I'm really struggeling with this right now.

I love him and I want to be with him and support him in all that he does. I want to stick by him always! It's just that these fears are almost making me want to "not get too attached" :( I know that I should trust God and know that we are all fireproof until He is finished with us and that when He IS finished with us, then it would be meant to be. I'm just having a tough time and my fear is getting in the way.

Please keep this in prayer ya'll! I would really appreciate it! If you are going through the same situation, I'd love to hear from ya!

Trusting In Him,

Heather<3

Just chillin'

12.23.04 (1:59 pm)   [edit]

Well, I'm just sitting here, not too much going on. Have you ever felt like you are pretty hungry but you don't feel like eating? It's so weird! It's past the time that I
usually eat supper and I'm somewhat hungry but I don't feel like eating. I'm not nervous or uneasy or stressed or anything. That's pretty odd, huh.

Oh well, I hope you all have had a good day! Today's been good for me :) I got a lot done! (It always feels good when you've gotten a lot accomplished) I've been busy cleaning
and also searching for next semester's textbooks on Amazon and Ebay and I've been posting a few of my own textbooks for sale. It's so rediculous the way colleges
charge soooo much for the required textbooks! I tell ya, there was one book I purchaced that was over $100 regular price and I got it for $7  :) Don't ya just luuuuuve
saving money LOL My mom has gotten me into some good habits concerning saving money. Growing up, I remember my mom always using coupons and
getting things on sale (not just on sale, but on CLEARANCE!! hehe) So, anyway, I'm so thankful Mom got me into some good habits.

Whew I sure am being random today LOL

Dear Lord,
I thank You for this wonderful day! Thank you for helping me to get a lot accomplished. Thank you for giving me the energy to get so many things done. Lord, I pray
that I will have many more days like this! Lord, I thank you for my friends, family and loved ones. You have really blessed me with some wonderful people. I pray that
they will all know how much they mean to me. I pray for all the members of He Holds My Hand. I am so thankful for them, Lord!! I just pray that you will bless them and
watch over them. Let them know how much they are appreciated! Many have posted prayer requests. I can't mention them all on here, but You know what they are.
Father, thank You so much for being here for us and for always reaching out to us whether we forget to ask or not. You always have Your arms wide open and
you are always there for us. Thank You for being such a wonderful Father, Comforter, Savior, Friend, etc!!

Lord, I pray that you will bless all those who visit this website and that You will speak to their hearts. I pray for all those who are lost, those who do not know You.
Please touch their hearts. I pray that they will see Your amazing LOVE and that they will see how much they need You.

Lord, without You, we are nothing. With you, we can do ALL things!! :) This is so amazing. You never cease to amaze me, Lord!

Please forgive my sins and help me to turn away from them. You know my heart, You know me better than I know myself.

In Jesus' name,

Amen

My life (today)

12.19.04 (2:42 pm)   [edit]

Hey guys! Thanks so much for keeping me in your prayers. It really means the world. *grin* I've been so busy lately with classes and exams and Christmas time... it's all been crazy but good :)

You know, sometimes life gets so tough, but all we have to do is give it all to the Lord and He will take it into His hands. All we have to do is trust Him and yes, life might still be tough, but He will give us a peace and we will know that no matter what, all will be ok. Jesus is Lord and the battle is already won. What is the worst that could happen?

Anyway, today we went to church and then came home... I made myself a veggie burger (LOL... yes, they are acctually very good if ya fix them right! hehe) It's that Boca Burger brand :) Have you all tried them? I'm not a vegetarian, but I'm trying to watch my diet. I have diabetes, so I've got to do my best to eat healthy. Sometimes my diabetes becomes such a pain and sometimes my insulin pump messes up and I get so frustrated. I know that hopefully one day there will be a cure, but if not, it'll be ok *wink* All I can do, is do the best I can to live a healthy life and live for God.

I've changed my website a LOT today! I have so much fun working on it. Let me tell ya, I was taking a "Intro to the Internet" course online and we had to create a website from scratch. So, I used the website I already have ( www.Shine4Him.tk ) and I just made a few changes and made it a little better *smile* ... it was so awesome to be able to share my faith with the other classmates, even though I never even met them in person.

Sooo.... I guess I'll go and finish cleaning my room :P (ahhhhhh!!!) hehe naw, it's really not that bad at all *grin*

Hope you all have a merry Christmas!! Jesus is the ONLY reason for the season *wink*

Prayer Request

12.14.04 (2:24 am)   [edit]

Hey everyone! I appreciate all your prayers so much! I just really want to mention this one request...

You see, my dad has been out of a job for over a year now and my mom only has a part time job. I, of course work but I also have college that I have to work on, so I can't work full time right now. Anyway, my family is REALLY having financial problems and on top of this me being diabetic, my insurance is out of SITE! It's really sad and my parents are really having a hard time. I am not making all that much money because I can't work full time and it looks like I'm going to have to start paying out of pocket for my college and also for a good chunk of my medical insurance. Please pray that my dad will get a job soon and that I will be able to pay for my college. I'm going to try to get financial aid so maybe that will help.

I know God will provide, but sometimes it really gets overwhellming. God has blessed me with being able to spend as little money as I have to, but still.... I want to be able to save for my future and I would like to move out (being almost 20) but it's pretty much impossible with me having to pay for college and for my health insurance.

Your prayers would mean so much! :)

PRO-CHOICE EXCUSES AND THE BIBLE'S ANSWERS

12.12.04 (6:16 am)   [edit]

PRO-CHOICE EXCUSES AND THE BIBLE'S ANSWERS

Pro-choice (pro-abortion) advocates give excuses in support of abortion. The Holy Bible clearly answers these excuses. Below are common excuses, followed by paraphrased verses from The Bible that counter the excuses.

EXCUSE-- IT'S NOT MY PROBLEM.

  • Women: "I've never had an abortion. I'm not pregnant now."
  • Men: "I've never caused a woman to have an unwanted pregnancy."

>FUNNY ISN'T IT?
>
>Funny how a $100 "looks" so big when you take it to church,
>but so small when you take it to the mall.
>
>Funny how long it takes to serve God for an hour,
>but how quickly a team plays 60 minutes of basketball.
>
>Funny how long a couple of hours spent at church are,
>but how short they are when watching a movie.
>
>Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but
>don't have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.
>
>Funny how we get thrilled when a baseball game goes into extra innings,
>but we complain when a sermon is longer than the regular time.
>
>Funny how hard it is to read a chapter in the bible,
>but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a best selling novel.
>
>Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or concert,
>but scramble to get a back seat at church services.
>
>Funny how we need 2 or 3 weeks advance notice to fit a church
>event into our schedule, but can adjust our schedule for other
>events at the last moment.
>
>Funny how hard it is for people to learn a simple gospel well
>enough to tell others, but how simple it is for the same people
>to understand and repeat gossip.
>
>Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not
>have to believe, or to think, or to say, or do anything.
>
>Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and
>they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages
>regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.
